I’ve recently started to support this fantastic new charity which helps children with disabilities achieve their full potential. Each month I’ll be donating a percentage of my total income to help them with their brilliant cause. Please read on…

THE MAKE WAY FOUNDATION

At the Make Way Foundation, we believe that all children should have the ability to live to their full potential, regardless of their disability.

We help children with disabilities afford the wheelchairs and other mobility equipment they need and deserve, we fund equipment for their participation in disability sports, and we approach each situation with care, support and enthusiasm.

Why this matters

Funding for wheelchair services in the UK is highly restricted, with children trapped by their disability: unable to attend school or participate in life because they have no mobility equipment or because what they do have does not meet their needs.

We believe children should feel proud of themselves and who they are.  They should have access to the equipment they need to participate in life, and it should make them feel good.

Kids who have ambitions to participate in para-sport should have the opportunity to do so, but sadly this is an area which receives very little funding at all.

At The Make Way Foundation, we want to do our bit to help.

Starting from our own experience

The Make Way Foundation was set up by Fleur Bryant, and her husband Matthew, after their son, Toby, needed a wheelchair but was quoted a year by the NHS to receive one.  Fleur's a wheelchair user herself, and is passionate about providing children with the opportunities they need to live a full and fulfilled life - both for mobility, and for access to sport.

Toby has benefitted enormously from his wheelchair, allowing him to get around so that he can fully  participate in day to day life and enjoy his time with his brothers.

With a small group of passionate trustees, we're getting started now in 2023, raising money and finding the first children we can help.
